"Success!!! History has been made in Banda Aceh. The Government of Aceh will mint its own Dinar  and Dirham that will be exchangable one to one with Kelantan's within the WIM system. Thus the first network of Islamic regions has been formed. The Dinar expands in this region. More than a year ago, gold dinars and silver dirhams have actually been re-introduced to the people of Aceh, by the Director of WIN, Mr Zaim Saidi, before more than 160 participants of the Conference of Civil Society Organizations: CSO Strategy for the Post-Reconstruction and Peace in Aceh, at the Hermes Palace Hotel , Banda Aceh, March 22, 2009. There he reminded the audience that the gold dinar was the currency of the people of Aceh, which was minted and circulated by the Sultan Iskandar Muda, in the 17th century.

The tradition to use gold in daily transactions among people in Aceh was also not too foreign and still continue to this day. Gold as a medium of exchange in Aceh is known as mayam, which consists of two types, namely Western mayam and Eastern, which refers to the unit of gold of 3 and 3.3 grams respectively. At the time of Sultan Iskandar Muda of Aceh Sultanate the gold coins was - mistakenly - known as dereuham.

So, when the people of Aceh were reintroduced with the gold dinar, they responded it positively The return of the dinar and silver, as the best solution of the global financial crisis, was adopted as one main topics of the above-mentioned conference. And, more than that, the conference participants agreed to propose the development of the gold dinar and silver dirham as a medium of exchange alternatives, as one of the recommendations of the Conference to the Government of Nangroe Aceh Darussalam. At that time, to the Governor of Aceh, Irwandi Yusuf, who officially closed the conference, was briefly described the return of the gold dinar in Indonesia. He also received a brochure published by Wakala Induk Nusantara (WIN).

A year later, after meeting with a delegation of the Sultanate of Kelantan, the recommendation that local government in Aceh should remint dinar and dirham, Insha Allah, will become a reality.
