160 Nisfu Dirham Were Distributed in Jatimulya Bekasi
A week before the month of Ramadhan 1433 H many people in Jatimulya, East Jakarta, enjoyed shopping with silver Dirham.
'I got this sandals,' a young mother with a happy face demonstrating a new pair of sandals which she just bought in the arena of Market Day Festival (FHP), in the park within Jatimulya Mosque complex, East Jakarta, Saturday, July 14, 2012.
'How much Dirham does it cost?' the other young lady whom she spoke with asked her, as if they have been so familiar with the Dirham coin for so long.
In fact they just knew it the day before the market day, as they received the coins from zakat collector authorised by Amir Zaim Saidi of the Baitul Mal Nusantara (BMN), who gave them the coins.
Coordinated by Mr. Yusron, Chairman of the Jawara Bekasi Chapter (Dinar Dirham Users Network) of the City of Bekasi, BMN officers have distributed the zakat to the faqir and masakin in the area. Total zakat distributed were 160 Nisfu Dirham (equal to 80 Dirhams) coins. The recipient s went to the market the following day, to spend the Dirham on goods of his or her needs. About 40 merchants attended the market in that day , wmany of whom were first comer to join the Market Day Festival.
The Jami Mosque of Jatimulya is quite ideal as an arena of market day festival as it has such a wide yard, and it is located in a busy street . It also sorrounded by residential areas, has an ample parking and large yard. Adjacent to it there was a madrasa as well as office premises. The mosque always bussy with various activties.
To one of the Mosque Committee member, Amir Zaim Saidi suggested that the market day festival is organized regularly. The Jawara of the City of Bekasi is now also growing slowly but steadily withnew members coming in. (001)
